Commemorative walk up Buderim 2012

In 2012, walkers commemorating the visit of Tom Petrie with 25 Aboriginals in 1862, stopped at Wirreanda park for refreshments and and more people joined the walk here.

On 29th September 2012, as part of the B150 activities, a community walk from Charles xxx park Mooloolaba to Buderim commemorated the 25 Aborigines who walked with Tom Petrie around Buderim mountain in 1862. The walkers stopped at Wirreanda Park for refreshments and more people joined the walk here. Archbishop Phillip Aspinall greeted the crowd and reflected on the event, and Jan Hall (nee Petrie), told the story of her great grandfathers visit to Buderim and Maroochy district.
