The Greenhouse 168 Lindsay Road

Indigenous and South Sea Islander people have been involved with the Greenhouse from its opening in 2008. The Green House is the home of Buderim SAILS – a social justice organisation active in reconciliation and bush regeneration.

N.B…present at the opening: Kabi Kabi elders Aunty Jenny Thompson and Beverley Hand, Manager of Kabbarli Home Care Darren Manns, and Russell McClue director of Anglican SAILS and the bishop for the northern region of the Brisbane diocese, Rev Dr Jonathon Holland. they all took part in the panting for the Reconciliation hedge. 

 

The Kabbarli / SAILS Memorial garden was opened on 3.12.10 by Aunty Merle Tilbury. Each year trees are planted in memory of members and relatves of the Kabbarli community that have passed that year.

At the opening event, Heather Johnston and Sue Pitt said their family sorrys, acknowledging their family history in the settlement of Australia and the dispossession and injustice towards Aborigines.
