Wunya Park

This small rainforest remnant was named Wunya Park on Australia Day 2015. Wunya means welcome, or g’day in Gubbi Gubbi language

This small remnant of Buderim’s rainforest has been the subject of ongoing care to remove camphor laurels and other weeds, and promote the growth of local native species. Community tree plantings have been held on Australia Day 2012, in partnership with Buderim SAILS and Kabbarli Home and Community Care Association Inc; and on Australia Day 2014 with SAILS.

At the Buderim Garden Festival 15th September 2012, Mark and David Peters danced in the car park, beside the bushland, and invited the audience to join in.
